mStation Version 1 & 2 Differences

Differences

• The Version 1 dashboard wired remote is connected to the top of the MP3 player disk unit.  This has to be connected / disconnected before the disk unit is moved.  On the Version 2 unit it connects into the back of  the car dock and it is therefore not necessary to remove the cable when removing the MP3 player from the car docking station.  Version 2 is easier to install in confined spaces such as a glove compartment or under a seat.  The wired remote is used to operate the device and is mounted with Velcro on the surface of your dash board or any convenient place.
• The Version 2 wired remote cable is thinner and more flexible therefore allowing it to be more easily threaded from the front of  your car to the back of the car.
• Version 2 has back-lit operating buttons on both the main unit and the wired remote.  This is obviously to improve ease of operation at night. Version 1 does NOT have back-lit buttons.  Please note in both cases the display is visible at night it is just the operating buttons which are not backlit in Version 1. 
• The Version 2 unit has re-designed buttons on the main unit making it more intuitive to operate.
• A separate power on/off button has been added to the Version 2 wired remote.
• Version 2 supports the Voice menu chip available from the web, Version 1 DOES NOT.
• Version 1 AND Version 2 BIOS updates are compatible at present but new versions or optional extras such as the voice chip above may not be compatible with Version 1.
• Version 2 is available in 40 & 60GB disk versions.
• The version 1 and Version 2 units are not interchangeable from one car to another as they use different docking connectors.
• We can only supply the optional home bay for Version 2 owners.  This unit enables you to attach the mstation to your HIFI and also gives you the ability to connect the mstaion to your PC or notebook via the USB interface.
